My most impressionable recollection of childhood was getting tucked into bed with promising books in my parents' hands. The warmth of my parents snuggling close and their voices in the stories are a special memory. These enchanting books took me to a place beyond my wildest dreams, awakening my imagination long after they were put down. The closeness we shared through storybooks was an excellent way to engage us in meaningful conversations that we often couldn't have during the course of a busy day.

Being read to has profoundly influenced my personal and professional life. I believe it also has a remarkable effect on all children and families. I have selected the following books for various reasons. Some are designed to promote positive messages that motivate and inspire children. Others are meant to reassure children coping with stress, not to mention stories to help direct the fantasy of children or leave them chuckling. These are all wonderful choices. My enthusiasm for books is contagious. Hope you catch it! ~
