I chose
these books because they are "tried and true." Over the
past 14 years, I have read them to all types of pre-k children
from all different cultures and social backgrounds, and
each book is enjoyed equally. As I read selections from
this list, children are able to join in because they are
predictable, rhyming, and kids can relate to them. Because
of this, these are the books that children gravitate to
in the library comer to re-read and re-visit during quiet
times.
