EARLY CHILDHOOD, LITERACY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPERS

 Opportunity to participate in the professional staff development of elementary school teachers in the use of CLI’s Comprehensive Balanced Literacy concepts in the classroom through modeling, observing and coaching teachers in the application of innovative and effective literacy strategies, techniques and programs. Promote learning by conducting educational workshops and presentations. Guide teachers in setting up child centered, literacy rich classroom environments.  Identify grade level learning objectives and create/prepare educational materials to use in support of those learning objectives. Make recommendations to teachers on content development and classroom management. Observe, model, and co-teach and plan with teachers on effective lessons utilizing CLI’s “Best Practice” comprehensive literacy strategies and methodologies in the classroom.

 

As a member of our collegial team of educational professionals, you share ideas on enriching children’s learning experiences and creating enthusiasm for literacy as the building block for learning throughout their lifetime.  CLI provides an excellent training program including an initial orientation and three day Institute complimented with extensive training materials and quality books followed up throughout the school year with “Developing the Professional Developer” workshops, seminars and regional meetings.  Institutes and training are held in CLI’s state-of-the-art Conference Center at headquarters in center city Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

 

~ Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or Reading

~ Teaching experience in elementary/early childhood classrooms

~ Application of core/advanced Comprehensive Balanced Literacy concepts in elementary school classrooms

~ Ability to conduct and deliver effective, professional development workshops and presentations

~ Strong interpersonal skills

~ Reliable transportation

~ Desire to make a difference  

HOURS

Part-time, flexible, DAYTIME SCHOOL HOURS, Monday through Friday according to your schedule as an Independent Contractor.

Positions are available in Atlanta, GA, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Newark, NJ, White Plains, NY, New York City and Washington, DC.
